One of the main attractions on Lantau Island is the Po Lin Monastery and the Big Buddha. The Big Buddha, also known as Tian Tan Buddha, is a 34-meter-tall bronze statue that sits atop a mountain overlooking the island. Cheung Sha Beach is one of the island's most popular beaches, with its long stretch of golden sand and calm waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The Lantau Trail, which circles the island, offers hikers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, coastline, and villages.

One of the most unique experiences on Lantau Island is the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car, which takes visitors on a scenic 25-minute ride from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping Village. The cable car offers panoramic views of the island's rugged coastline, lush forests, and the Big Buddha.

In addition to its natural beauty and cultural attractions, Lantau Island is also home to Hong Kong's international airport, making it a convenient destination for travelers.
